Injured, Vincent Poirier will not be playing in the Olympic Games with the French basketball team

The French pivot was injured on Friday June 28 during training. The French Basketball Federation announced that he will therefore not be able to compete in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The French Basketball Federation announced this Saturday that center Vincent Poirier (30 years old) injured his left ankle last Friday, June 28. “Examinations taken on Saturday confirmed the need for a stoppage of a duration incompatible with the resumption of preparation and participation in the Olympic Games”said the FFBB in its press release.

The Real Madrid player (2.13 m, 30 years old) will not be replaced in the French group, now made up of 16 players, who are preparing for the Olympic Games. This group will be reduced to 12 men for the Games by coach Vincent Collet. Poirier has 60 caps for the French team and notably won the silver medal at the Tokyo Games in 2021.
