An exceptional day as far as compounding in Italy is concerned World Cup 2024 in Antalya (Türkiye). A third stage that brought various satisfactions for the Italian colours: two golds and a bronze between individuals and teams.

Great feat on the part of Elisa Roner who won in the women’s individual. The Fiamme Gialle archer takes the field first for the semi-final where she beats the British Ella Gibson 146-145. In the final against Meeri-Marita Pass the Italian found herself down after the first three arrows 29-28, but then overturned everything in the next two partials won 29-27 and 30-29. The advantage is now two points, the opponent tries to recover with 30-29 in the fourth set but the last ends 30-30 and decrees Elisa Roner’s victory 146-145.

Also splendid was the gold medal of the men’s team formed by Marco Bruno, Elia Fregnan and Michea Godano who beat Turkey (Akcaoglu, Haney, Sezgin) with an imperious 235-228. The sprint start of the Azzurri was decisive and after two rounds of arrows (59-56 and 58-56) already put a wide gap in the score. It doesn’t end here though because Italy continues to hammer and finishes strongly with a 59-57 and a 59-59 which seal the success.

Elia Fregnan and Elisa Rone did well to win the bronzer in the mixed team against Colombia of Lopez and Gomez Zuluaga, winning 159-158. The Azzurri shoot 15 arrows on the “10” and only one on the “10” leaving very little space for their opponents and win the match 159-158 with scores of 40-38, 39-40, 40-40 and 40-40.
