The Italians were the second team to arrive in Puerto Rico after the arrival of the Lithuanians last Thursday night.
The qualifier, in which Puerto Ricans will also seek a ticket to the Olympic Games, for the first time since 2004, will be held from July 2 to 7 at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum of Puerto Rico.
The Italian team, led by Danilo Gallinari of the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA, will debut on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. against Bahrain. Italy, Bahrain and Puerto Rico make up Group B.
The Puerto Ricans will face the Italians on Thursday at 8:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, Group A includes Lithuania, Mexico and Ivory Coast.
According to the FBPUR, the national teams from Bahrain, Mexico and Ivory Coast will arrive on the island on Sunday.
