Italian national coach Luciano Spalletti has taken charge after Italy’s elimination in the round of 16 of the European Championship. The champion of the previous European Championship lost 2-0 to Switzerland.
“I am responsible. We failed because of my team selection, it is never the players’ fault,” Spalletti said at the post-match press conference. “Rhythm and freshness play an important role in a tournament.
