Italy Shines at the European Athletics Championships: Pietro Arese Celebrates Bronze Medal on the Track

On Wednesday evening in Rome, where the European athletics championships are being held, the Italian men’s team composed of Luca Sito, Vladimir Aceti, Riccardo Meli and Edoardo Scotti came in second place in the 4×400 relay, winning the silver medal . The Belgian team came first and therefore won gold, while Germany came third.

A little later in the final of the men’s 1,500 meters the middle distance runner Pietro Arese won bronze, coming third behind the Norwegian Jakob Ingebrigtsen and the Belgian Jochem Vermeulen, gold and silver medalists respectively.

Wednesday was the sixth and final day of this year’s European Athletics Championships, which were the best ever for Italy: it came first in the medal table with 24 medals, of which 11 gold, 9 silver and 4 bronze, the best result in its history in the competition. In addition to the 4 × 400 and 1,500 meters on Wednesday, she won in the men’s 4 × 100 relay, finishing first, and in the women’s long jump with Larissa Iapichino, finishing second.
