All good things come in threes – could be the motto for Jan-Lennard Struff today. Before his quarter-finals at the ATP 500 tournament in Halle/Westphalia, the Warsteiner had already been defeated twice by his opponent Jannik Sinner. Both defeats occurred this year at Masters level in Indian Wells and Monte Carlo, each in two sets.
However, the German Davis Cup player always knows how to impress on home soil, as his first ATP title in Munich underlined once again. With the victory against the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas behind him, the 34-year-old will throw everything into the balance with his strong serve on grass to make the world number one from South Tyrol a very unpleasant opponent.
