Just a few days after winning the tournament in Halle, Jannik Sinner is already looking forward to the next highlight: Wimbledon. The 22-year-old will complete his first training session on Wednesday at the All England Lawn Club.

Carlos Alcaraz has been training on the “sacred grass” for a few days after his early exit from the ATP 500 tournament at the Queen’s Club. Novak Djokovic, whose participation is still a question mark, also hit the first balls on the training courts. Among others, the Serb prepared for the tournament, which he has already won seven times, with the Argentinian Federico Coria (ATP 71). Coria has another prominent training partner on Wednesday: Jannik Sinner.

As the Argentinian announced on social media on Tuesday, he will be training with the South Tyrolean for one and a half hours on Wednesday. He will have to get used to the grass in Wimbledon, as it tends to be a bit slower than that in Halle. This means that the ball bounces higher and the movements must be adapted accordingly.

Sinner still has to get in shape on the outside courts. Before the start of the tournament, however, as the world number one, he should have the chance to test the conditions on the center court, as he did last year. This used to be strictly forbidden, but since 2022 the organizers have given the top players this opportunity – not least to make the surface a little more grippy and prevent falls. The first match on the center court is traditionally played by the previous year’s winner, Carlos Alcaraz. The draw takes place on Friday morning.
