Mexicali, B. C., México.- The Mexicali 2025 Caribbean Series, to be held in the iconic Nido de los Águilas from January 31 to February 7, is preparing to welcome a new contender: Japan Breeze. The Japanese arrive after the signing of an Agreement between that entity and the Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation (CBPC).

The official document was signed by Juan Francisco Puello Herrera, Caribbean Professional Baseball Commissioner; Erwin Miyasaka, CFO of Japan Breeze; and Toma Irokawa, its general manager.

The Agreement, which marks a significant milestone in the history of the tournament, expanding its scope and diversity, established the participation commitments, established and endorsed by the CBPC assembly, underlining the seriousness and enthusiasm of both parties for this international collaboration.

“Japan’s inclusion in the Caribbean Series is an exciting and strategic step for baseball in our region,” said Juan Francisco Puello Herrera. “We hope that this participation will not only raise the level of competition, but also strengthen the ties between our leagues and cultures,” he added.

For his part, Erwin Miyasaka said: “For Japan Breeze, being part of the Caribbean Series is an honor and an invaluable opportunity to showcase the talent and passion for baseball that we have in Japan. We are looking forward to competing and learning from our colleagues in the Caribbean.”

Miyasaka added: “This is a historic moment for Japanese baseball. Participating in a tournament of this magnitude will allow us not only to demonstrate our skills, but also to foster cultural and sporting exchange.”

The Japanese team will be comprised of players from a variety of leagues, including the Japan Independent Baseball League, Nippon Professional Baseball, Japan Enterprise Baseball League and the Japanese Baseball Amateur League. This diversity in the team’s lineup promises to enrich the competitive level of the tournament and offer a unique experience to baseball fans.
