Japanese dominate Bouldering World Cup in Innsbruck

Led by Sohta Amagasa, Japan celebrated a triple victory at the men’s bouldering World Cup in Innsbruck. Meichi Narasaki and Sorato Anraku took second and third place on Friday evening in front of a sold-out crowd of 3,000 spectators. A total of four Japanese were in the six-man final field.

Tyrolean local hero Jakob Schubert missed the qualification for the semi-finals on Wednesday evening.

The lead climbing qualification and semi-finals will take place on Saturday, and on Sunday it’s all about the podium places. Alongside Schubert, Jessica Pilz also wants to have a say. She came fifth in the bouldering competition on Thursday.
