Jaylen Hoard to Sign with Maccabi Tel-Aviv: Euroleague Transfer News

The information had leaked in recent hours and Israelhere it is confirmed by the person concerned. Present at INSEP for the official launch of the Olympic preparation of the French team, Jaylen Hoard confirmed the news this Thursday during the media day. After two seasons with Hapoel Tel-Aviv, the interior (2.04 m, 25 years old) will indeed stay in Israel since he will sign with Maccabi Tel-Aviv.

“Returning to the NBA is a goal but, for now, I am focusing on Europe. It has not yet been made official but I will go to Maccabi Tel-Aviv next season. The club was already interested last year, I confirmed this season. The day after the final (lost against his future teammates), they made me an offer (…). Monaco was interested, my club (Hapoel Tel-Aviv) also wanted to re-sign me but I chose the Maccabi project (…). Going from Hapoel to Maccabi (two rival clubs in Tel-Aviv) is not usual there. But the opportunity to play in the Euroleague and continue to progress was what was most important for my career,” he told us from INSEP.

After this great season in Israel (16.7 points and 5.1 rebounds for 18.8 evaluation, number one in Winner League) but also in Eurocup, the former NBAer will thus discover the Euroleague with Maccabi Tel-Aviv.

It’s an interesting challenge to continue to progress. The Maccabi staff thinks I still have room for improvement.. Even if the context was complicated at the beginning (in Israel), we didn’t really feel that in Tel Aviv, I don’t feel insecure there,” he concluded.
