Naturalized players Jens Raven expressed feelings of pride after officially taking the oath to become an Indonesian citizen (WNI).

“I’m very proud and grateful to be an Indonesian citizen,” said Jens Raven, quoted from his personal Instagram page on Thursday (27/6) evening.

Jens Raven officially took the oath to become an Indonesian citizen at the DKI Jakarta Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Thursday (27/6).

The moment Jens Raven underwent his oath-taking was shared on the official Instagram social media of the DKI Jakarta Regional Law and Human Rights Office. In his upload, Raven is seen kissing the Indonesian flag.

“Jens Raven has officially been sworn in by the Head of the DKI Jakarta Kemenkumham Regional Office, R Andika Dwi Prasetya, on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at the Hall of the DKI Jakarta Kemenkumham Regional Office,” wrote the DKI Kanwil Kumham on Instagram.

“Hopefully his presence will bring positive changes and contributions to the development of the Indonesian National Football Team,” wrote the DKI Jakarta Regional Office of Law and Human Rights at 15.50 WIB.

Raven is a player of Indonesian descent from Yogyakarta on his father’s side. Raven’s grandmother, Willy Maudy Baumgarten, was born in Yogyakarta on April 6 1944.

In fact, Ravens’ naturalization process coincided with Calvin Verdonk. However, the process of taking Verdonk’s oath was faster, because the player was already in Indonesia at the beginning of June.

Meanwhile, Raven was only able to come to Jakarta at the end of June. Because Raven had just defended Indonesia U-20 when appearing in the Toulon Cup in France.

This player, who was born on October 12 2005, is a player developed by Dordrecht, a club based in West Holland. His playing position is striker. This is the position Shin Tae Yong needs to add strength to the front line of the Indonesian National Team.

PSSI General Chairman Erick Thohir also welcomed the news that Jens Raven had officially become an Indonesian citizen.

“I definitely welcome the presence of Jens Raven, a young player to add to the national team squad, both U-19 and senior national team players who really need quality players. Especially after we added a lot of defenders, the presence of Jens, who usually plays in midfield “Front, we really need it,” said PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir, quoted from the PSSI website.
