Joan Mir Surprises Fans by Choosing to Stay at Honda in Latest MotoGP Transfer Market

TRIBUNNEWS.COM – The latest MotoGP racer transfer market was marked by a surprising fact where Joan Mir, who was rumored to be leaving Honda, actually chose to stay at the Japanese manufacturer.

Joan Mir, who has shown minor results with Honda for one and a half seasons, was rumored to be following in the footsteps of Marc Marquez, who moved to Gresini Ducati to increase his confidence on his iron horse.

Unfortunately these rumors seem to be raw. Meanwhile, his former teammate at Suzuki, Alex Rins, is reportedly courting Yamaha to return to racing with Fabio Quartararo next season.

This rumor is at least good news for the former Suzuki player because there is hope of remaining in the MotoGP premier class as summarized from Corsedimoto.

This is because it was rumored that Joan Mir had chosen to leave MotoGP and continue his work in WSBK, which is included in the second caste in world racing events.

Joan Mir Stays at Honda

The issue of Mir remaining at Honda is a surprise considering that the former 2020 MotoGP world champion looks frustrated with Honda’s RC213V.

Because during this season and a half he never found a good solution to get sweet results.

So far, Mir has only been involved in accidents, suffered from injuries, and even recorded minor results during races.

It’s no surprise that the Spaniard is determined to leave Honda to get a more competitive motorbike.

Mir’s contract with Honda, which expires at the end of 2024, is planned to be extended with Honda until 2026.

This means that if the rumors about Mir remaining at Honda are true, he will at least spend another 2 seasons.

There is news that Honda is currently convincing Mir to stay on the team with all its efforts.

In particular, the former Marquez team’s promise is to make Mir even more competitive with the RC213V and not be a ‘cheerleader’ on the race track.

If Mir stays at Honda, he will return to a duet with Valentino Rossi’s younger brother, Luca Marini.
