After a total of nine years at the club, Jonas Scheuermann is leaving FC Augsburg this summer and, according to information from kicker, will join Brighton & Hove Albion as Fabian Hürzeler’s assistant coach. The FCA will receive a low six-figure transfer fee for this.

Scheuermann, a native of Freiburg, started in Augsburg as assistant coach of the U19s in 2015, was promoted to assistant coach of the professionals under Manuel Baum in 2017 and acquired the UEFA Pro license last February.

At FCA, Scheuermann experienced several coaches, including Baum, Martin Schmidt, Heiko Herrlich, Markus Weinzierl, Enrico Maaßen and most recently Jess Thorup.

Now the 38-year-old is moving to the English south coast with Hürzeler. The FC St. Pauli promotion coach recently moved to Brighton for around six million euros. The 31-year-old will succeed Roberto de Zerbi.
