Jonathan Tah Set to Make Move to FC Bayern Munich as Contract Extension with Bayer 04 Leverkusen Falls Through

Jonathan Tah will apparently not extend his contract with Bayer 04 Leverkusen. This means that the international player’s move to FC Bayern Munich is getting closer and closer.

As Sky reports, Tah has finally decided against extending his contract with the Werkself, which runs until 2025. Leverkusen is therefore forced to sell if they do not want to let the central defender leave for free next year. Accordingly, the B04 officials are also open to an immediate transfer.

Tah is said to have long since reached an agreement with FC Bayern. The only differences are over the transfer fee. While the Munich team apparently only wants to invest between 20 and 25 million euros, Leverkusen is demanding at least 40 million euros including bonuses. However, both clubs are apparently moving closer together.

The German record champions recently signed Stuttgart’s Hiroki Ito to reinforce the defensive center, but this should not change their interest in Tah.

Tah moved from Hamburger SV to Leverkusen in 2015. Last season, the 28-year-old scored six goals and provided one assist in 48 competitive matches.
