Jorge Martín leaves for Aprilia as a replacement for Aleix Espargaró

The Madrid native ends the rumors about his future for next season and will not continue at Ducati

MADRID, 3 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish MotoGP rider Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac Racing) will be an Aprilia rider next season, replacing his compatriot Aleix Espargaró, in an important turn this Monday in the premier class of the World Championship.

The rumors and press conferences were full of messages from different riders about their future and, when the man from Madrid seemed destined to climb the official Ducati, the world runner-up finally decided to leave the team with which he climbed to MotoGP in 2021.

Aprilia made the signing of the current world runner-up official this Monday, putting an end to speculation. The Noale factory announced the news once the Mugello Test was over, in a video on its social networks with the team boss, Massimo Rivola.

“Let me introduce you to the new Aprilia rider, who will replace Aleix Espargaró,” said the Italian, as both riders entered, with Martín posing for a first official photo.

“A path of unstoppable growth, Jorge is a fundamental piece to achieve the goal that we all seek at Aprilia Racing. We spoke last night and without wasting time we made the decision,” added the CEO of Aprilia Racing.

Although there is nothing more official at the moment, the rumor and movement that is now gaining strength in the paddock is that the Spanish Marc Márquez, who is competing in his first season in the Gresini team, will be the one who makes the jump to the official Ducati.
