Real Madrid striker Joselu has signed a contract with Qatari club Al-Gharafa, announced Real Madrid, who had meanwhile exercised their option to buy the player from Espanyol. According to Al-Gharafa’s official website, Joselu has signed for two seasons plus an optional third.

The 34-year-old Joselu, present at the European Championships in Germany with La Roja, was loaned to Real Madrid at the beginning of last season from the Catalan club with whom he was under contract until 2025. He played 49 games and scored 18 goals last season with the merengue club, winning the Champions League with his teammates – scoring two decisive goals in the semi-final against Bayern Munich -, the La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup.

“Real Madrid thanks Joselu for his professionalism and his ‘Madridism’ and shows him all its affection, as well as his family, to whom they wish good luck in this new phase of their lives”, writes the Madrid club on its official site.
