Judo Club’s End-of-Season Gala Celebrates Success and Unity Among Licensees

A ceremony brought together the licensees.

At the Nelson-Mandela gymnasium, the judo club organized its end-of-season gala in front of stands largely occupied by an audience of fans of this discipline and the families of young judokas. Gathered on the tatami, the 180 members of all categories performed demonstrations and exercises.

Under the leadership of the president of the COC Raymond Grimal, the president of the judo club Ludovic Cabaribère and supervised by their teacher Jean Barcelo, 6th dan, himself assisted by the facilitators Manuel Molina, Rémi Matteodat, Audrey Puigsegu and Benoît Desneix, the judokas competed in exhibitions that were fun for the little ones, spectacular for the older ones and experienced for the veterans.

Thus, the first katas were performed by cadets Noa and Léana, followed by veteran black belts Manuel Molina and Didier Bracon to name but a few. Ludovic Cabaribère and Nicolas Lenoff, as well as Jean Barcelo and Damien Baisset presented always impressive self-defense exercises (jujitsu).

Cadets Thomas and Ryad had previously performed brilliantly in kata during the regional team championships in Saint-Jean-de-Védas, both reaching the first step of the podium.

Medals and belts were awarded at the end of the gala.
