In the letter, the prominent athlete added: “I never imagined living a day like today, and I wish no one had to live it. Today my dad received a very serious death threat on my life. “They asked them to say goodbye to me because they would kill me.”

The athlete from Valle del Cauca, through social networks, asked President Petro: “don’t let me die.”

“It fills me with sadness that at this moment my family and I are in danger. “I am not a person of dubious relationships, I have no enemies, I have only dedicated my life to sport,” she wrote in the letter that she released through social networks.

In response to the recent threats received by the prominent judoka Luz Adíela Álvarez in Jamundí, Valle del Cauca, the government of the municipality of Jamundí expressed its concern and condemned any act that puts the physical and emotional integrity of the prominent athlete at risk.

“Luz Adíela Álvarez, recognized for her career and achievements in the world of judo, has been the victim of threats that threaten her safety. These actions not only affect one of our most beloved and admired athletes, but also represent an attack on the sports community and the values ​​of peace and respect that we promote,” said the Secretary of Government, Sandra Milena Ortega.

The official assured that the corresponding complaint has already been presented to the competent authorities, and they are working together to clarify the facts and achieve the rapid identification of those responsible for these threats, so that they are brought to justice.

“Luz Adíela Álvarez has been a source of pride for our municipality, representing us with honor and dedication in multiple international competitions.
