The young woman revealed that on June 3 her father “received a very serious death threat against my life. “They asked them to say goodbye to me because they would kill me.”
“They don’t say why, I don’t understand why either, because I have dedicated my entire life to sport. Currently, I am the president of the Valle del Cauca Judo League and it is having a good administrative and sporting moment,” she said.
In a letter addressed to the head of state, Luz Adiela Álvarez said: “President Gustavo Petro, DO NOT LET ME DIE.”
“It fills me with sadness that at this moment my family and I are in danger. I am not a person of dubious relationships, I have no enemies, I have only dedicated my life to sport to give happiness to my people. It is unfair that the violent want to intimidate those of us who wake up every day with the hope of bringing joy, triumphs and progress to the country,” he wrote in the letter.
“It is sad that in this country, the people who do not owe anything to anyone and who have given themselves to exalt sport at a national and international level, are the target of threats and intimidation. It is sad to feel so vulnerable despite leading a life doing things well,” he said.
That is why he called on the mayor of Jamundí, Paola Andrea Castillo Gutiérrez; to the governor of Valle del Cauca, Dilian Francisca Toro, and to President Gustavo Petro “so that they do not leave me alone. Luz Adiela Álvarez said that “my only protection at this moment is the hand of God and the prayers of my family members. President Petro, don’t leave me alone.”
