Kansas City Chiefs Defensive End BJ Thompson Hospitalized After Suffering Cardiac Arrest

Kansas City Chiefs defensive end BJ Thompson was taken to a hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest during a team meeting Thursday.

This is what journalist Tom Pelissero of NFL Network learned. The 25-year-old footballer’s life is not in danger and he is in stable condition.

The Chiefs were scheduled to conclude their voluntary offseason activities on Thursday. A club spokesperson said the training session had been postponed until the next day.

Thompson was drafted by the Missouri team in the fifth round (166th overall) of the 2023 draft. He played only one game last year, the last game of the regular season. The 27-year-old athlete had two tackles in this duel.

This story is reminiscent of that of Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin. In January 2023, the latter had a cardiac arrest during a game against the Bengals in Cincinnati.
