Members of the wealthy Koch family will acquire a minority stake in BSE Global, the holding company that owns the Brooklyn Nets of the NBA, their home stadium, the Barclays Center, and the women’s professional basketball team, the New York Liberty.
Julia Koch and her three children agreed to invest, the company said in a statement on Tuesday. The amount was not disclosed. They will take a 15% stake in BSE Global in a deal that values the company at about $6 billion, according to a person familiar with the matter. The person asked not to be identified as the information is private.
The Nets are majority owned by Alibaba Group co-founder Tsai Chung-hsin, who will retain control of both teams, the statement said. Members of the Koch family are in talks to buy a stake in BSE Global, which Bloomberg first reported.
