Kristaps Porzingis Returns from Injury to Lead Boston Celtics to NBA Championship Victory

Kristaps injured his left ankle in the second game of the NBA Finals in a fight with Dallas Mavericks center Derek Lively.

Despite the injury, Porzingis returned to the court in the fifth game, helping the Boston Celtics beat the Mavericks 106-88 and win the team’s 18th NBA championship.

“On Thursday, it was announced that Porzingis will return to the field after 5-6 months. I assume rehab will start in three months. During this time, he will not have put his foot on the ground, muscle recovery and strengthening will begin. Which means Kristaps could be back sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

We don’t have to worry too much about Porzingis getting back on the court. Even without Kristaps, Boston will be at the top of the Eastern Conference standings. And even if we’re not among the top two teams, it’s not a reason to worry – the Celtics have proven that they can win on the road,” says John Karalis.
