Kyle Lowry Could Join the Villanova Contingent on the Knicks’ Roster

After the Mikal Bridges trade tonight, there are now four former Villanova players on the Knicks’ side and it may not be over yet. According to Yahoo SportsKyle Lowry could strengthen the Wildcats contingent at Madison Square Garden.

When there’s room for 4, there’s room for 5, right? The Knicks could take on the appearance of Wildcats at the start of the school year with the many Villanova players on their roster. Already 3 this season, then 4 for sure in October with Mikal Bridges. And the upcoming Free Agency could push other former protégés of Jay Wright to settle down in the Big Apple.

According to Jake Fisher of Yahoo SportsKyle Lowry’s name was mentioned in the offices of the blue and orange franchise.

Villanova Five anyone?

“Kyle Lowry has even been mentioned by NBA figures as a target for New York in free agency, sources said”

A name which is obviously not insignificant since Lowry completed his university studies at… Villanova. Even if he is starting to age well (38 years old) and his contribution is now less, the 2019 NBA champion can still provide services with his playmaking qualities, his shooting, his experience, without forgetting some strong passages caused by this over there. If he were to sign, we imagine that he would take on a role coming off the bench, to see how many minutes he could get because Miles McBride also played last year and we do not imagine him leaving the rotation of Thibodeau.

Lowry could also extend with the Sixers, in his hometown, with Nick Nurse who knows him by heart on the bench, where he will undoubtedly have more guarantees in terms of playing time than with the Knicks.
