RMC SPORT INFO. Big relief for Kylian Mbappé whose nose examinations proved reassuring. The captain of the Blues will not have surgery for the moment but will have to wear a mask in future matches. He should be preserved this Friday against the Netherlands.
The Blues can breathe. According to information from RMC Sport, the exams taken by Kylian Mbappé after his shock during the Blues’ victory against Austria (1-0) which left him with a bloody nose proved reassuring. The captain of the Blues does have a broken nose but will not have surgery for the moment and will even potentially be able to play this Friday against the Netherlands. But barring any surprises, the staff of the France team should choose not to take any risks and decide to preserve it.
However, there was concern on the Düsseldorf side after the exit in the 89th minute of the former PSG striker. The first findings of the medical staff suggested a fracture of the nose with a possible indication for surgery, which would have greatly compromised the rest of his Euro.
“It will be ok”
If his nose is indeed broken, the examinations taken at the Düsseldorf hospital have ruled out the possibility of an operation and the Blues striker will now follow a more traditional treatment protocol. Later in the evening, the president of the French Football Federation Philippe Diallo confirmed the good news to AFP: “it will do it, no operation”.
Kylian Mbappé will, however, have to wear a mask in future matches. If he is potentially able to play in the next match, Didier Deschamps should, barring any surprises, choose to preserve him. On the other hand, everything remains possible for the match against Poland on Tuesday June 25.
