Lando Norris dominates free practice 1 of the Spanish Grand Prix

Runner-up to Max Verstappen in Canada, Lando Norris dominated the first free practice session on Friday afternoon to kick off the Spanish Grand Prix weekend. The British driver beat his Dutch rival by 24 thousandths of a second (1’14”228 against 1’14”252) on the Montmelo circuit. Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) completes the podium for the session, 344 thousandths behind Norris (1’14”572).

Nice surprise at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, replacing Carlos Sainz in a Ferrari, Oliver Bearman this time driving a Haas this Friday. The young Briton (19 years old) placed 19th (1’15”865) two tenths behind his teammate Kevin Magnussen (17th, 1’15”644). He had replaced Nico Hülkenberg. The second free practice session will begin at 5:30 p.m.
