Laszlo Benes set to join Union Berlin in Bundesliga: A Fresh Start for the Slovakian Player

Laszlo Benes is moving to Union Berlin in the German Bundesliga. This will be announced on Friday.

The 26-year-old, who is currently with Slovakia at EURO 2024, most recently played for Hamburger SV in the second German Bundesliga. In 27 appearances last season, he scored 13 goals and provided eleven assists.

Benes’ contract in Hamburg would have run until 2026 – the exit clause is likely to be in the low millions. His former club Borussia Mönchengladbach is also said to have benefited from this. Benes was the “Red Shorts”‘ most valuable player.

“Union is a very good club in Germany. I’m looking forward to getting to know the team soon and am highly motivated to make a fresh start in the Bundesliga next season in order to be able to support the club in its sporting goals as best as possible,” said the Slovakian, looking forward to his new role.
