With regard to the 2024 NBA Draft, there was probably no bigger topic in the NBA cosmos – and now the story is perfect: With the 55th pick, the Los Angeles Lakers have, as expected, chosen Bronny James. The 19-year-old could thus play alongside his father LeBron James in the coming season.

The NBA legend will turn 40 next season, but is still considered one of the best players in the league. Father and son could now become teammates, something that has never happened before in NBA history. However, this is subject to LeBron extending his contract with the Lakers.

The 39-year-old currently has a player option that would extend his contract for next season and earn him $51 million. The Lakers are hoping that by signing Bronny, they can persuade LeBron to extend his contract.

Knicks get German with 58th pick
The 58th and final pick of the NBA draft was a surprise from a German perspective. The pick initially belonged to the Dallas Mavericks, but ultimately went to the New York Knicks, who secured the services of Stralsund native Ariel Hukporti.
The German center would play in the team of fellow countryman Isaiah Hartenstein next season.
