Badminton doubles pair Lee Su-hee (30 years old, Incheon International Airport)-Baek Ha-na (24 years old, MG Sinchon Vault) won the 2024 MBN Women’s Sports Awards March Player of the Month Award (MVP).
Lee Su-hee and Baek Ha-na won the women’s doubles final of the BWF All-England Open held at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham, England, defeating Japanese players Nami Matsuyama and Osamu Ichida to win the championship.
Thanks to the outstanding performances of the two players, Korean badminton has won the gold medal for two consecutive years at the All-England Open, the world’s most traditional and prestigious badminton tournament, which has been held for 125 years since 1899.

Lee Su-hee and Baek Ha-na have now gotten rid of the regret of being runners-up in the previous tournament. They were only in the top 100 in the world in the second half of 2022, but they have won three international tournaments in the first half of 2023, showing a sharp upward trend. It is said that her victory in the All England Open has increased the possibility of winning gold at the Paris Olympics.

The MBN Women’s Sports Awards was established in 2012 to activate women’s sports and encourage female athletes in Korea.
Every month, a player who has brought glory to Korean women’s sports will be selected as the monthly MVP and awarded. At the end of the year, a comprehensive award ceremony will be held in December to invite players who have contributed to improving the status of Korean women’s sports within a year.
