Line Christophersen makes it to the final of the Guwahati Masters after defeating Wen Chi Hsu

The Danish badminton player Line Christophersen is ready for the final of the Indian tournament Guwahati Masters.

She did so with a victory over the Taiwanese Wen Chi Hsu with the numbers 21-15, 12-21, 21-17.

Christophersen ranks number 33 in the world and is thus currently the third best Danish women’s single.

Saturday’s opponent is number 24 in the world and beat Christophersen two months ago in Finland, but this time the roles were reversed.

Fourth-seeded Christophersen got off to a dazzling start and was ahead 13-3 in the first set. The opponent worked his way back to 15-17, before the Dane took the set home with four points in a row.

In the second set, the second-seeded Taiwanese was the best, and then the set had to be decided in a third set.

Here Christophersen led 8-2 and 20-10, before the Taiwanese won four points in a row.

On the eighth match ball, the Dane finally managed to secure the victory. She is thus ready for her first final in 2023.

Lalinrat Chaiwan from Thailand awaits in the final on Sunday, who clearly won over the Indian Malvika Bansod in two sets.

The Danish mixed doubles with Mads Vestergaard and Christine Busch is also ready for the final after winning the semi-final 21-16, 12-21, 21-7 over a pair from Malaysia.

The tournament is a Super 100 tournament, which is the lowest level on the sport’s World Tour.
