Does Caudery live up to expectations?
The women’s pole vault is the first final of this evening. Elien Vekemans is not among them, she immediately failed three times in the qualifications on Friday at the starting height of 4.10 meters.
Molly Caudery is the big favorite for gold. The British won gold earlier this year at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow and has the best world annual performance with 4.86 meters.
Caudery can expect competition from the Finnish title defender Wilma Murto. She has lost a tough opponent in Tina Sutej, the Slovenian suffered an injury during the warm-up in the qualifications and withdrew.
