Lorenzo Musetti Dominates in Semi-Finals on Queen’s Lawn, Securing Spot in London Grass Court Tournament Final

The Queen’s lawn suits him so well. The Italian Lorenzo Musetti dominated the Australian Jordan Thompson this Saturday afternoon in the semi-final of the London grass court tournament. Three sets were necessary to overcome the 43rd player in the world (6-3, 3-6, 6-3) in more than two hours. He will thus have the opportunity to win a third title on the ATP circuit, having never lost a final (titled in Hamburg and Naples in 2022).

It is partly thanks to his service, an area in which he was clinical, that Lorenzo Musetti was able to obtain this qualification. After eliminating Alex de Minaur, seeded number 2 in the tournament, in the round of 16, he confirmed his excellent form on grass a few weeks before Wimbledon. And the first to worry about it might be Tommy Paul.

The New Jerseyan was the better of the two Americans in the semi-final of the English tournament, a little later in the afternoon. He beat his compatriot Sebastian Korda quite calmly in two sets (6-4, 7-6) after a quick tie-break. The thirteenth player in the world, seeded number 5 in the tournament, will thus have the opportunity to win a third title on the ATP circuit after Stockholm in 2021 and Dallas this year, who also lost three finals.
