World champion Lotte Kopecky (Team SD Worx-Protime) has been crowned the final winner of the Tour of Britain for women (WorldTour). The last stage victory went to Ruby Roseman-Gannon (Liv AlUla Jayco) in the flat final stage of 99.2 km in and around Manchester. The Australian won a tumultuous final sprint.

Kopecky had started to attack in the final kilometer, but ostentatiously stopped his legs just before the finish to allow teammate Christine Majerus to win. However, Luxembourg’s Majerus, who will retire at the end of the season, threw her hands in the air too early and was reassembled by Roseman-Gannon.

Kopecky won the first two stages in Great Britain on Thursday and Friday. On Saturday she rolled out the red carpet for her teammate Lorena Wiebes, who provided a three out of three for Team SD Worx-Protime. Wiebes finished third in the final stage on Sunday, Kopecky fourth. Enough so that her leader’s jersey will no longer be out of her hands.

In the final rankings, Kopecky is seventeen seconds ahead of the British Anna Henderson (British national team).

Kopecky succeeds the Italian Elisa Longo Borghini on the honors list in Great Britain, who was the best in 2022. Last year the competition was not organized due to financial problems at the organization.
