This is the first time that Pit Klein will participate in the Olympic Games. A wait of almost 8 years is over for the Luxembourg athlete.
He missed his chance at the Antalya tournament but made up for it shortly after at the World Championships. Pit Klein earned a qualification thanks to his world ranking.
The 27-year-old athlete first managed to beat the world number 5 then he won against the Frenchman, Jean-Charles Valladont (16th) in the second round.
The points collected during this competition allowed him to qualify. He is currently in 41st place in the world and finished in 9th position at the World Championships.
