Luxury Living: Which Team Will Sleep the Most Expensively at the 2024 European Championship in Germany?

Berlin – It’s almost time: The European Championship is taking place in Germany! Europe’s football elite will play in our stadiums. Hundreds of thousands of fans will storm the tournament cities.

The 24 participating nations will be accommodated in hotels in the country. There they can retreat, discuss tactics and train. But regeneration is also important – good sleep is also part of the 2024 European Football Championship. But which nation will treat its players to the greatest luxury? Who can afford the most expensive rooms?

Which team sleeps the most expensively at the European Championships?

In order to determine the team that will be staying in the most expensive rooms, “Urlaubstracker.de” looked at the cost of hotel rooms in the hotels hosting the European Championships. The bargain hunters assume that the football stars will be staying in the most expensive rooms, the suites. In order to determine the luxury lovers among the footballers, the prices of the rooms were observed and analyzed over a longer period of time.

According to the study, the players of the Austrian national team sleep the most expensively: a suite in Berlin’s “Schlosshotel Grunewald” costs 1,262 euros, according to “Urlaubstracker.de”. Spain and Hungary share second place: although the teams stay in different hotels, a night still costs around 890 euros in each case.

Switzerland chooses the third most expensive option: in the “Stuttgarter Waldhotel” you have to pay almost 704 euros for one night in a suite.

What is striking is that the team from Georgia only qualified for the European Championship in the play-off final against Greece and therefore had less time to choose a place to stay. However, booking early does not always seem to be worthwhile: an overnight stay in the most expensive room of the “Best Western Plus Park Hotel” in Velbert (NRW) costs the Georgian team just 128 euros.

And what about the former European champions? Does the motto apply: only the best for the best in football? The Italian national team won the European Championship title in 2021. The team is staying at the “Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten” in Iserlohn – a suite here costs an average of 318.50 euros. This puts the reigning champions only in the middle of the field.

There are no figures for Germany. Our national team will be staying at the adidas “Home Ground” in Herzogenaurach. The DFB accommodation is reserved specifically for the team.
