Mam Jaiteh extends to Monaco for the next season

Double reigning French champion, Monaco continues to consolidate its squad. Friday, the Rocher club formalized the one-season extension of Mouhammadou Jaiteh (2.08 m, 29 years old), arriving in the summer of 2023. His first steps in Monaco were not easy, weighed down by an injury, but the French international (36 caps) was able to bounce back during the season (13.8 minutes per game for 6.7 points and 3.6 rebounds on average in the Championship).

A reason for satisfaction for the club as specified in the official press release: “Mam Jaiteh made her contribution during the final (victory against Paris Basketball), under her mask with her broken nose, notably with a game 4 at 14 points, 5 rebounds, for 21 evaluation. A line to follow for next year. »

Having passed through Nanterre (2014-2016), Strasbourg (2016-2017) and Limoges (2017-2018), Jaiteh played abroad (Italy, Russia and Turkey) before returning to Monaco last season. With the Roca Team, he won the French Championship for the first time in his career.

“I am very happy to continue the adventure with Monaco,” he confided on the club’s official website. “I was able to build benchmarks here that will definitely be very useful to me for the coming season. I am determined to help the team achieve its goals. We want to have an even better season than the one we had this year.”

Jaiteh is the third Monegasque player to extend his contract after Mike James (three seasons) and Jaron Blossomgame (two). The team led by Sasa Obradovic also announced the arrivals of Greek-American point guard Nick Calathes and American center Vitto Brown.
