Manchester United Eyeing Real Madrid Striker Joselu as Budget-Friendly Option amid Uncertain Future

Liputan6.com, Jakarta- Manchester United got a little fresh air from Real Madrid to get substitute striker Rasmus Hojlund at a cheap price. One of the players targeted by MU is still not certain that Los Blancos will retain him.

As is known, MU needs at least one striker to replace Anthony Martial as Hojlund’s back-up next season. It has been confirmed that Martial will not have his contract extended due to his minimal contribution.

MU cannot buy high-priced strikers because they have to divide the spending budget in the 2024 summer transfer market to recruit new players in the defense and midfield sectors. They are trying to hunt for cheap but quality attackers.

One of the names that MU is considering because the price is low is Real Madrid striker Joselu. The player from Spain will play at Real Madrid throughout the 2023/2024 season on loan from Espanyol. Joselu was able to score 19 goals in the 2023/2024 season.

Joselu’s loan period at the Santiago Bernabeu will end on June 30 2024. However, as of mid-June 2024, Real Madrid has not yet decided whether to make him permanent or return him to Espanyol.

If Real Madrid decides to send Joselu back to Espanyol then MU has the opportunity to get the Spanish national player cheaply because his contract expires in June 2025.
