Mario Hezonja’s Future Uncertain: Real Madrid Renewal Includes NBA Exit Clause

After the player himself confirmed this Thursday through his social networks his renewal with Real Madrid, the future of Mario Hezonja remains unclear. At least that is the news coming from the United States, where they assure that the Croatian forward has an exit clause in the contract that he has agreed with Real Madrid.

Not just anyone, the revelation was made by Shams Charania, one of the most respected basketball journalists in the United States. According to his information, the contract that Hezonja has agreed with Real Madrid includes an exit clause to the NBA until July 19, so it cannot yet be guaranteed that the Croatian will continue wearing the white shirt next season. In fact, Charania adds that there are multiple teams interested in his return to the NBA, where he was already between 2015 and 2020 (Orlando, New York, Portland).

A few days ago another prestigious American journalist, Marc Stein, noted that Hezonja had agreed to hold a private training session for the Los Angeles Clippers in the coming days.

Hezonja published a post on his social networks early this Thursday morning informing of his decision to renew with Real Madrid, the team for which he has played the last two seasons. It seemed like the end of the soap opera that he has been involved in in recent days, in which the Croatian went from signing a multi-year pre-agreement with Barça to being discarded by the Barça club due to his laudatory statements towards Real Madrid in the moments after his victory in the final of the Endesa League over UCAM Murcia.
