(Ulsan = Yonhap News) Reporter Jang Ji-hyeon = Park Cheon-dong, the mayor of Buk-gu, Ulsan, said, “I will definitely prepare a specific revitalization plan for the Gangdong Tourism Complex, which has remained stagnant for 20 years, during my term.”
Mayor Park held a press conference to mark his second anniversary in office in the district office multipurpose room on this day and announced, “I will lay the foundation for growth as a marine tourism city.”
Mayor Park suggested the following projects for the remaining term: building an art exhibition hall, completing the Jungsan Sports Town, building tennis and badminton courts, completing the Ulsan Forest, and promoting a comprehensive flood damage improvement project in the Myeongchon District.

Mayor Park said, “We are ready to become a new city of hope and a prestigious Buk-gu,” and added, “We will spend the second half of the 8th local government term making Buk-gu a city where people want to live and a place that everyone envies.”
In response to a question from the union the day before about allegations of workplace bullying by district office officials, Mayor Park said, “I feel very sorry and will provide proper education to prevent this from happening again in the future.”
He added, “We have completed measures through personnel exchanges regarding the senior civil servants who were suspected,” and “The audit department has also begun an investigation, so we will determine the truth and strictly discipline those who are at fault.”
