MAZATLÁN._ The Mazatlan teams had a productive day in the Mazatlán Baseball Tournament-Venados 2024 by achieving victories in different categories and heading towards qualification.
Region IV-Mazatlán teams achieved victories on Friday and took an important step towards the next round.
In the morning, Region IV beat the Sierra Madre-Nuevo León League 15-2, in a match in which goalkeeper Derek Páez stood out by connecting 2-2.
Arturo Lizárraga took the win on the mound of shots, Humberto Ramírez lost.
In the afternoon, in their second game of the day, Region IV defeated Academia Guerreros México 11-1 with the winner Santiago Toledo pitching and César Ramírez losing.
The home team secured the victory with a cluster of 9 runs in the fifth inning, where Joshep Galván stood out with a home run.
Another Region IV victory was recorded in the Junior Children’s category, after beating Culiacán AC-Sinaloa by a 10-0 shutout.
Santiago Fuentevilla stood out for the Mazatlan offense by hitting a home run and a single and producing 4 runs.
Fuentevilla also claimed victory on the shooting hill with relief from Ángel Cabello.
Also in Children’s Minor, Region IV, they defeated Panzaneros B-2-B Chihuahua by a resounding 24-1.
Luis Ángel Ríos went 4 for 4, including a home run for the Mazatlecos. Santiago Fuentevilla also hit home runs, as well as a pair of doubles.
Liga Quintero Castañeda beat Rangers-Coahuila 8-2 with pitches from the winner in relief Leonel Núñez.
Traviesos de Liga Mazatlán defeated San Luis Potosí 16-14, with Mikel Ramírez standing out for the winning team with a home run.
Liga Mazatlán beat Academia Monterrey 10-0 with pitches by Rubén Lagunes.
Alfredo Magaña hit a pair of hits for Liga Mazatlán.
Liga Quintero Castañeda lost 11-1 to Villegas Team-Sonora, in a game in the Senior Children’s category.
Cage 45 Mazatlán beat Bravos-Nuevo León 13-3 with pitches from the winner Luis Morales.
Diego López and Jorge Celis connected 2-2 for Jaula 45.
Guardians Muralla defeated Academia La Guagua-Nuevo León 8-1, in a Senior Youth category game.
Christian de León went 2-2 for the Muralla team.
The victory belonged to Ricardo Rodríguez.
Quintero Castañeda League defeated Dorados Arteaga-Coahuila 16-2, in a Minor Children’s category game. Emilio Orona was the winning pitcher, Rodrigo Ibarra losing.
Traviesos from the Mazatlán League beat Cubs from Nuevo León 10-4 in the Children’s category.
In the School category, Pulido Mazatlán School defeated Treviño Kelly-Tamaulipas 27-10.
And in the Minor Youth, Liga Mazatlán beat Region IV 12-1.
FIRST ROUND CONCLUDES
This Saturday, the first round of matches will conclude with the fourth day being played at the different venues of this tournament.
The games start at 8:00 a.m. on the fields of the Mazatlán League, Unidad Juárez, Liga Muralla and Liga Quintero Castañeda.
