Media Registration Open for the 2024 WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup Finals in Thunder Bay

Media registration is open for the 2024 WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup Finals presented by CARNEXT, which will be played from July 28 to August 3 in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. The deadline to register is Monday, July 22.

All members of the media, both local/national and international (including those who have pre-registered for WBSC events), planning to cover the 2024 WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup Finals must apply for accreditation through from the official WBSC Media Accreditation online platform at

The accreditation procedure is started by clicking on MEDIA ACCREDITATIONS. Then fill out the online application form, including a headshot.

Once the request is submitted, media members will receive an automatic email confirmation that their request has been received.

Media intending to cover the event remotely should contact the WBSC Media Department to receive tournament press releases at [email protected].

Another automated message will indicate a “change of status” on the accreditation request.

Members of the media can check the status of their application AFTER the registration deadline on July 22 by going to my.wbsc.org and clicking on FIND YOUR ACCREDITATION at the top right of the page. You will then need to enter your first name, last name, and the email address you used to register.

WBSC will share an interview protocol with the media before the Thunder Bay tournament begins.

All communication from the WBSC Media Department during the 2024 WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup Finals will be sent to approved media members via email.

GUIDELINES FOR RIGHTS-FREE MEDIA (“NRH”)

-Only applicable game rights holders may stream game footage (audio and/or video) of WBSC events.
-NRH media credentials provide access to official training sessions, games and opening and closing ceremonies.
-Specific categories will grant credentials (i.e. press, photographer, radio and television, team media) and stadium access will be granted accordingly.
-Photographers, NRH TV crews and media will be required to wear WBSC-issued media vests.

The event

The IX WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup opened in 2023 with the Group Stage, which involved 12 National Teams divided into two groups hosted by Canada and Japan. The top three finishers from each group advanced to this year’s finals.

The 2024 Finals will begin with five days of pool play from July 28 to August 1. After a day of rest, the top two finishers will compete for the world title and the number three and four seeds will play for a bronze medal on Saturday, August 3.
