Mélanie De Jesus Dos Santos, French all-around champion for the fourth time

Frenchwoman Mélanie De Jesus Dos Santos won a 4th French Champion title on Friday.

Mélanie De Jesus Dos Santos won the title of French all-around champion for the fourth time in her career, Friday in Lyon, less than two months before the Paris Olympic Games.

De Jesus Dos Santos won at the end of the four apparatus with 55,000 points, ahead of Morgane Osyssek (53,717 points) and the defending champion Djenna Laroui (52,718 points). She returns to the title of French champion, five years after her last victory in Saint-Brieuc in 2019.

Returning to France for the competition, the Martinican has been training for two years in the United States alongside superstar Simone Biles. “I’m happy to see the French public again, I feel at home. Matching in France prepares us for the Games, it puts us in the mood for the atmosphere that will be there at Bercy”, she said. The 24-year-old Frenchwoman will compete in the apparatus finals on Sunday.
