On Tuesday, the Autonomous City of Melilla, led by its president, Juan José Imbroda, received the Spanish U-22 basketball team in the Golden Hall of the Assembly Palace along with the coaching staff of the basketball teams. the Czech Republic and the American team from the East Coast. Also present were the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Miguel Ángel Fernández, the president of the Melilla Basketball Federation, Francisco Javier Almansa and representatives of the national basketball squad of our city, Melilla Baloncesto and Enrique Soler.
In this event, the Melillense Federation presented Juan José Imbroda with the badge of honor of the federative entity of our city, for his invaluable support to the world of local basketball. This was joined by the delivery of t-shirts from the different teams to both the president of the City and the greatest exponent of local sports, Miguel Ángel Fernández.
The international basketball tournament that was held in the Javier Imbroda pavilion during these days has been a real success both on a participatory level, due to the high level of play of each of the squads that took part in it, and because of the influx of spectators who gathered in the stands of the local facility in each of the six games that were played.
