Mexican Judokas Punch Their Tickets to Paris 2024

Hidalgo Sport.- Aztec judokas obtain a ticket to Paris 2024. After having concluded the Olympic ranking period in Judo, and as had already been predicted, Mexico will have two judokas represented in Paris 2024: Paulina Martínez in 52kg and Prisca Awiti in 63kg.

For Prisca Awiti, this will be her second participation in the Olympic Games. The judoka, born in London, made her debut at Tokyo 2020, where she achieved an outstanding 17th place, the best result for the country in this category. Awiti is also a Pan American medalist, having won silver at Santiago 2023, and she reached fifth place at the Doha 2023 World Championships, consolidating herself as one of the best in her specialty.

Paulina Martínez, for her part, will make her debut in the Olympic tournament after qualifying thanks to the continental quota. The Pan American runner-up in Santiago 2023 is preparing to represent Mexico for the first time in the largest global sporting event, bringing with it great expectations and the support of the entire nation.
