Both Jonas Wohlfarth-Bottermann (34) and Brandon Tischler (23) will be hunting for baskets for the Yellow Giants in the new season. This was confirmed by returning coach John Patrick (56), who thus made the transfers official.

“WoBo is coming back, I’m very happy about that,” said the coach at his own presentation, “he is particularly important for the pick-and-roll defense because he is very focused. It is underestimated how important that is for big men.”

Wohlfahrt-Bottermann, who everyone just calls “WoBo”, was already under Patrick in Ludwigsburg from 2019 to 2022, and most recently played for the Veolia Towers Hamburg for two years. The 2.08 meter tall center finished third with Germany in 2022 at the European Championships, which took place in Germany, among other places.

And because Patrick was in full swing, the new, old head coach also revealed a second transfer that has been rumoured recently. Brandon Tischler is moving from the Basketball Löwen Braunschweig to Ludwigsburg.

“Brandon Tischler is also coming,” said Patrick, “he fits our profile very well and has incredible potential. He had many options. I wanted to sign him two years ago, but unfortunately he still had a contract in Braunschweig.”

For Brandon, it will be the first stop without his twin brother Nicholas, who is moving from Braunschweig to the Chemnitz Niners. The twins, who have done everything together since the beginning of their careers, are said to have even earned exactly the same salary in Braunschweig. Now they hope that the separation will allow them to take the next step in their development.
