Michoacán Makes History with 29 Gold Medals at Conade 2024 Nationals

Guadalajara, Jalisco, June 27, 2024.- During yesterday’s day, Wednesday, in the taekwondo discipline, Michoacán once again marked another milestone in the Conade 2024 Nationals by reaching 97 medals, two more than the previous edition, thanks to the three golds, one silver and one bronze obtained during the penultimate day of activities of the discipline, which is based in Guadalajara, Jalisco.

The Government of Michoacán, through the State Commission of Physical Culture and Sports (Cecufid), reports that the first place finishers were registered in the Under-21 category by martial artists Ángel Ruiz (-68 kilograms), Diego Mendoza (+87kg) and Nancy López (+73kg).

The silver medal went to Santiago Correa in the Junior division (-48kg) and the bronze to Carlos Aguilar (-58kg) in the Under-21 division. With these positive results, Michoacan taekwondo reached 30 medals, its best performance in the history of the country’s top amateur event.

Michoacán achieved 97 medals, of which 29 are gold, 26 silver and 42 bronze. This Thursday, the Purépecha legion will close taekwondo competitions and the karate actions will continue in the Perla Tapatia; In Campeche, the youth badminton discipline remains in action.
