Milwaukee Brewers Acquire Cy Young Winner Dallas Keuchel to Bolster Injured Pitching Corps

The Milwaukee Brewers added depth to their injury-decimated pitching corps Tuesday by acquiring 2015 American League Cy Young Award winner Dallas Keuchel.

The Brewers obtained the 36-year-old left-hander from the Seattle Mariners for cash. Keuchel has played the entire season so far at the AAA level, going 7-4 with a 3.93 ERA in 13 starts.

“We don’t expect him to stay in the minor leagues,” Brewers manager Pat Murphy said before Tuesday night’s game against the Texas Rangers. We are not looking for depth for the minor leagues.

Keuchel pitched in the major leagues for the Minnesota Twins in 2023, boasting a 2-1 record and a 5.97 ERA in 10 games. In his career, he has a record of 103-92 and an ERA of 4.02.

However, he has had trouble in recent years with several teams.

The Brewers needed a pitcher as Brandon Woodruff, Wade Miley, Robert Gasser, Joe Ross, Jakob Junis, DL Hall, Taylor Clarke, JB Bukauskas and Devin Williams are injured.
