Minnesota Timberwolves, Chris Finch signs four-year extension

After the best season in franchise history, Minnesota Timberwolves coach Chris Finch has agreed to a four-year contract extension that will keep him at the helm of the team through the 2027-28 season.

Finch led the Timberwolves to three consecutive playoff appearances for the first time in 20 years and accelerated the development of 2020 first overall pick Anthony Edwards into one of the league’s most prodigious talents.

En route to the Western Conference finals, where the Timberwolves lost in five games to Dallas, Finch suffered a ruptured right patellar tendon after a collision with point guard Mike Conley during a Game 4 win over Phoenix in the first round.
