Minnesota Timberwolves Extend Chris Finch’s Contract Through 2027-28 Season

Minnesota Timberwolves and Chris Finch have agreed to a four-year contract extension; That is, they have extended the relationship between both parties until the 2027-28 season; reports Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The decision of the Minneapolis organization is not surprising in the least. Finch has led the team to three consecutive playoff appearances for the first time in 20 years, and in the last of these he has tied the best result in the team’s history by reaching the Western Conference finals, in which they lost to Dallas Mavericks. Additionally, he has fueled the growth of Anthony Edwards into one of the best players in the NBA.

The truth is that Finch’s work has fit perfectly with the Wolves project. Although the first year in which they had Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns together there were certain doubts, now those have been cleared up by turning them into the basis of the best defense in the league (in efficiency). Additionally, they were the second-best team in points allowed in the paint.

Now approaching the overall achievement of Finch, we have that his total balance at the head of the team is 160-127, including the 56-26 of the 2023-24 season with which he achieved third place in the West. The best moment of the campaign came when they were able to overcome a 3-2 deficit against Denver, also winning Game 7 on the Nuggets’ court in the conference semifinals.
