Modric replaced Vastic as the oldest goalscorer

Austria’s former team player Ivica Vastic has lost his status as the oldest goalscorer in European Championship history since Monday. Croatia’s captain Luka Modric scored the 1-0 goal (final score 1-1) in the 55th minute of the Group B match against Italy in Leipzig, and he did so at the age of 38 years and 289 days.
