Móstoles Hosts Prestigious International Judo Competition and Climbing Cup in 2024

Móstoles hosts the XI International Stage Judo Competition Madrid Villa de Móstoles and the II Test of the Spanish Speed ​​Climbing and Bouldering Cup 2024, during this weekend.

  • These sporting events, organised by the City Council of Móstoles, in collaboration with elite athletes and federative entities, will bring together more than 2,000 judokas and more than 400 climbers in the municipality.

More , through the Department of Sports, in collaboration with Javier Delgado “Ichiban” and Kiyoshi Uematsu, and the Spanish Federation of Mountain and Climbing Sports (FEDME), respectively.

The international Stage Judo competition is being held for the first time in the municipality, at the PAU-4, on 27, 28, 29 and 30 June, where more than 2,000 judokas will meet. The stage, of recognised prestige, one of the most important at national and international level, will bring together more than 2,000 judokas from all over the world in Móstoles and will feature the presence of judokas of the highest level and international renown such as the Japanese, Joshiro Maruyama, two-time world champion and a world reference in the discipline.

The second national climbing competition, which will bring together more than 400 climbers, will take place on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 June, in the Plaza del Sol in Móstoles (PAU-4). This event will bring climbing closer to the general public thanks to the temporary climbing wall installed outdoors, which will have the same walls of equal dimensions as those that will be set up at the next Olympic Games in Paris.

On Saturday, June 29, the youth block qualifying tests in the U-14 category will take place, at 8:00 a.m.; Under-16, at 10:30 a.m. and U-18, at 1:15 p.m., which will advance to the finals that will be held starting at 5:00 p.m., in the Under-14 category; at 6:45 p.m., in U-16, and at 8:30 p.m., in U-18.

On Sunday 30th the qualifying events for the Absolute Block category will take place, starting at 8:00 a.m. and the final of the Absolute Block qualifiers taking place at 12:45 p.m.

Starting at 1:30 p.m., the qualifying tests will be held and at 3:00 p.m. the youth speed finals. In addition, on Sunday afternoon, the Absolute Block finals will be held, starting at 6:00 p.m.

In addition, we promote activities for all neighbors and we offer leisure alternatives to lead an active and healthy life,” highlighted the Mayor of Móstoles, Manuel Bautista.
